Management Activities
Administrative Management
The client can entrust our administration, specialized in the photovoltaic sector, with all the administrative aspects of his investment.
We assist our clients managing the relationship with all counterparties: revenue agency, municipalities, chambers of commerce, competent authorities (GSE, ARERA etc.) and suppliers/customers (GSE, energy trader).

GSE compliance is of primary importance and requires the utmost attention. Externa verifies incentive tariff proceeds, constantly matching them with the actual production data, and reconciles measures with the grid manager in case of discrepancies.

Financial Management
Externa offers the possibility to upgrade the services with financial management at all levels.
Our support can be modulated on needs: it ranges from cash management, to ordinary banking activities, to periodic analysis of loans and hedging derivatives, or it can cover more strategic activities of business planning and control.

Business planning is not only a one-time activity before engaging in a business venture, but also a strategic tool during the whole company life. BP needs regular adjustments to business and market trends (e.g. incentive tariff changes, energy market price volatility).
In case of revamping, repowering or significant changes to the plant, the creation of a specific business plan model, flexible and adjustable, is crucial for the investor to make aware and informed choices.

Thanks to the partnership with brokers specialized in the photovoltaic sector, we assist our customers in insurance matters of the PV power plant. We support them from start to finish: from identifying the best contracts according to risk profiles and coverage strategies, to the management of insurance renewals and claims.

Remote PV plant monitoring
Since we believe monitoring is an unquestionably value-adding activity, we have invested in a remote control room constantly monitoring the plant performance, 365 days a year, holidays included. This full-coverage service, which few AM operators offer, grants the prompt detection and reporting of malfunctions and shutdowns, thus minimizing business interruption costs
- Daily monitoring of the main parameters (production, irradiance, availability) for 365 days/year, including holidays
- Reception and takeover of system alarms (PV generator, connectivity etc.) and event management (anomaly report to the O&M contractor and follow-up to resolution)
Technical Management
With our electrical and energy engineers, we provide constant management control over the plant conditions, over production and over all technical issues. We independently and rigorously monitor the activities contractors perform and their compliance with the technical contracts in force.
- Coordination of predictive and corrective maintenance on the plant
- Analysis of the technical performance of the O&M contractor and suppliers in general (surveillance, security system maintenance…) and assessment of contract guarantees and penalties
- Settlement and control over output and off-take energy measures
- Data reconciliation with grid manager and GSE over remote reading errors and output/off-take measure mismatch
- Assistance in reporting and compulsory statements to the competent authorities (GSE, Customs Agency-UTF, ARERA)
- Relationship management with GSE, E-Distribuzione, Agenzia delle Dogane, ARERA)
- Contractors and suppliers’ relationship management (performance, contract parameters, bonuses and penalties)
- Support in the selection and purchase of components
- Assistance in the search and selection of the main suppliers (O&M, surveillance, green maintenance, module cleaning, periodic tests and calibrations…)
- Technical data room update
- Support on health and safety issues (legislative decree 81/08 and amendments), in the selection of the qualified consultant and in the database management
Externa performs specific technical analyses upon request, in order to detect possible grounds for improving plant performance and/or to assess extraordinary maintenance measures via a cost/benefit analysis.
We also perform inspections on site to assess the plant maintenance conditions (PV modules, wiring, support structures, inverters, meters etc.), after which we draft a specific report with photos, suggested repair measures and safety compliance means.

Reporting
Externa provides an ad-hoc reporting system, customized to the client's needs. As part of the Asset Management contract, it prepares periodic reports on the technical-maintenance activities performed, on the plant performance and on the economic/financial results of the SPV. Externa drafts specific reports in the event of extraordinary situations (financing, revamping etc.).
Reports can be accessed at any time and from any digital device by logging in the “My Externa” area of the website
